Well, actually in home we are creating a
culture of be green and friendly with the environment. My dad always talks
about that and he worries all time for the pollution, green energy and
sustainability.
Because of that, all my family knows about how
we have to take care of the environment, my sister, brother and also my mom.
Now I will describe what we do to
be environmentally friendly:
In my house we use low energy lamps, like
energy-saving bulbs. We also turn off appliances that we are using and
change incandescent light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs because they save a lot of energy and produce
less heat.
Also, I’m
fanatic of the videogames, I always play with my xbox360 and the controls need
battery, so for this we reduce battery
consumption. In the case where they
are necessary, choose rechargeable.
The danger of the batteries is presented at the end of its useful life because
it takes many years to
disintegrate and metals mixed
with the environment pollute the
water and air. So, we think that is very
important to use rechargeable batteries for my xbox 360.
In other way, we always use old clothes for cleaning rags. Reusing
products not only serves the function of recycling,
but also reduces the consumption and production, reducing the impact on the environment. So is not very strange to see old
t-shirts of my brother or me black because of the garbage.
